Ticket Archive Settings in Smart Support

August 25, 202629 reads

Smart Support Version 2.0.3 includes built-in ticket archive settings to keep older closed tickets out of normal ticket lists while preserving them for future reference.

Go to: Smart Support → Settings → General → Ticket Closing

Then scroll to the Archive Tickets section.

Enable Ticket Archive

Enable Ticket Archive to activate ticket archiving.

Once enabled, closed tickets can be moved to the archive and hidden from normal ticket lists and dashboards until restored.

ℹ️
Only closed tickets can be archived.

Archived Tickets Menu

Enable Show Archived Tickets submenu under Smart Support to add a dedicated Archived Tickets page.

From this page, administrators can search, restore, or permanently delete archived tickets.

Conditional setting: This option only appears when Ticket Archive is enabled.

Auto-Archive Closed Tickets

Enable Automatically archive closed tickets after a set number of days to automatically move older closed tickets into the archive.

Only closed tickets that have not already been archived are eligible.

Auto-Archive Days

Set how many days Smart Support should wait after a ticket is closed before automatically archiving it.

For example: 90 days, means the ticket will be archived 90 days after it is closed.

The default value is 90 days.

Conditional setting: The Auto-Archive Days field only appears when Auto-Archive Closed Tickets is enabled.

Example Workflow

A typical ticket lifecycle can be: Open → Delayed → Closed → Archived

This helps keep your WordPress help desk organized while retaining older ticket history when needed.

After configuring the ticket archive settings, click Save Changes.
